Introduction

I've been programming for over 28 years now and doing it well for almost 18! My first programming experiences were with the Sinclair ZX81, ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. My first successful game was called PegIt; published on the Amiga in 1994. I created a few games in 1994 but the 3rd game -- Sneech -- is a personal favourite! That game took only a few months to develop but was updated and optimized for the following 2 years. The game proved to be a popular Multi Player experience years before online Multi Player games became popular.

After Sneech I spent two years developing a strategy game called Foundation. This was my first commercial game to be distributed worldwide on CD in 1997. I then took the role of development manager for a games company called e.p.i.c Interactive. We specialized in porting popular games from Microsoft Windows to Apple Macintosh.

In 2004 I decided to get back to basics and develop Shareware Games once again. I now run Shoecake Games as a full time business and have developed some new as well a few remakes of my past designs including a modern remake of PegIt!

Latest Developments

I've been busy developing a bunch of Shareware games for Windows, Apple Mac and Pocket PC platforms. The first games to be converted were BoXiKoN and PegIt. I've also developed some new games including WordOMatic, Stack'n'Splash, DaisyWords, Egglomania, Chock-A-Block, Numerati, BombDunk, CornerChaos, Kaskade, MahJong and LinkLines. Read about these on my Shoecake Games site.

More recently I started developing iPhone games! So far I've released CornerChaos and BoXiKoN onto the App Store! I'm currently working on iPhone versions of Stack'n'Splash and LinkLines! Read about these on my ShoecakeTouch site!

Birdie Shoot was the first project I've worked on that has a Microsoft Windows version!

Piles'o'Tiles
Publisher: Self/Shareware
Released: Amiga; July 1996
Based on the Classic Solitaire Mahjong. This was my last 'shareware' game on the Amiga. However, I later teamed up with my good friend Andy "Fish-Guy" Kellett, to convert this game to AmigaDE for PDA's and other devices. More recently I was inspired to make a whole new Mahjong game called Random Factor Mahjong!
ShroomGammon
Publisher: Self/Shareware
Released: Amiga; August 1995
This was a rather weird but interesting twist on the Backgammon board game. The 'board' was represented by a river bank with two 'teams' of cartoon Mushrooms trying to reach opposite sides of the river. The game remained faithful to the Backgammon rules but looked surprisingly different! This was by far my least successful game to date although looking back it's definitely one of the most impressive looking of my old Amiga ECS games. I may have another stab at this idea some time or at least a more traditional Backgammon game!
Sneech
Publisher: Self/Shareware
Released: Amiga; September 1994
Sneech is a retro style Video Game and was first available for the Amiga computer system in 1994. Some people know the game style as Snake, Tron, Light Cycles or one of many other names. Recently, the game genre has been made famous by Nokia Snake. Sneech is certainly not a mainstream game although the popularity of the Nokia Snake may make the retro game style more accessible. I'm in the process of developing new versions of Sneech for both Windows and Pocket PC. Read more about it on the Sneech Homepage!
Jelly Othelly
Publisher: Self/Shareware
Released: Amiga; July 1994
Othello style board game with colourful cartoon style graphics and amusing sounds. Featuring the Bazz-o-Meter !

PegIt Classic
Publisher: Self/Shareware
Released: Amiga; March 1994
The 'Perfect Puzzle', loosely based on the classic 'Peg Solitaire' game. You have to remove a number PegIt's in the set number of jumps but there never seems to be enough jumps. This game has since been converted to Windows, Mac and Pocket PC! Read about this on the PegIt Homepage
